Hydropuls™ Servohydraulic Actuators

IST Hydropuls servohydraulic actuators are rugged fatigue-rated actuators designed for static and dynamic testing. They are double ended, double acting construction, designed to generate an equal axial force in tension, torque and compression and provide excellent dynamic characteristics.

IST PL Hydropuls™ Actuator Series PL Hydropuls Actuators

PL Hydropuls actuators are a powerful and highly flexible solution designed to generate controlled displacements, loads, velocities or accelerations. Used in conjunction with the appropriate servo valves, transducers, signal conditioners and a high-pressure hydraulic supply system, these actuators provide unsurpassed dynamic performances.

PL Hydropuls linear actuators can be mounted upright, horizontally or suspended in test rigs or test machines. Hydraulic power supply can be either 280 bar or 210 bar, whereby the nominal force capacity changes in proportion to the hydraulic pressure.

Benefits

  • Frictionless and wear-free
  • Excellent price/performance ratio
  • Versatile in use
  • Compatible with all current systems and machines

Features

  • Hydrostatic bearing mounted piston rod
  • Plastic coated bearings
  • Hydraulic cushions
  • Designed as equal area actuators
  • Operating pressures of 210 and 280 bar
  • Low design height
  • Over-sized versions to withstand higher side loads
  • Versions with seals
  • No pressure applied to seals

When combined with IST's Labtronic™ family of digital controllers, IST actuators can be used in a wide range of testing applications, from static component testing to full vehicle simulation testing.

A complete line of accessories are available, including but not limited to manifolds, servo valves, transducers, ball joints and swivels.

IST Rotary Actuator Rotary Actuators - PD Series

IST rotary actuators, PD Series, are fatigue rated and provide angular rotation or torque in structural test applications. The rotary actuators are available in seven standard sizes, from 1 to 64 kNm. The maximum angular displacement amplitude is ± 50°(± 140° on request). Two designs are available whereby the actuator housing is either stationary or the housing is allowed to rotate (e.g. four square applications).

Features

  • Hydrostatic bearings of the rotary piston are standard on all sizes, which allows for high operational reliability.
  • Hydrostatic bearings are also incorporated in the rotating housing design with proven operation up to 2000 rpm.
  • Both bearings and actuator chambers are plastic coated so as to be able to withstand forces exceeding the load capacity for short periods of time (e.g. during fracture of the test article).
  • No mechanical backlash and therefore no adverse effect on test control in the case of zero crossings under alternating load conditions.
  • Hydraulic cushions at both ends of rotation.

Accessories

  • May be equipped with different servo blocks which allow for varying sized servo valves as well as hydraulic accumulators.
  • Built-in transducer for angular position feedback is non-contact inductive transducer free from wear.
  • Torque transducers for all sizes for stationary or revolving actuator operation.
  • Mechanical accessories include actuator base plates for horizontal or vertical mounting. Compensation couplings and intermediate bearings for small eccentricities, misalignments and thermal expansion, as well as for absorbing major radial or axial forces.

When combined with IST's Labtronic family of digital controllers, IST rotary actuators can be used in a full range of testing applications, from static component tests to full vehicle simulation testing.
