Shock Absorber or Damper Testing Systems

Shock Absorber or Damper Testing SystemsSelect image to enlarge Shock absorber testing is useful to determine the character and the fatigue life of shock absorbers in:

  • R&D
  • Quality Assurance

Different models for different demands, IST systems are built to suit your testing environment. There are different designs available dependent on your needs. Read about them below:

Shock Absorber or Damper testing systemsStandard Shock Absorber or Damper Testing Systems Series MSP

  • 25 kN and velocities to 5 m/s
  • 50 kN and velocities to 3 m/s

Special Systems

  • Based on MSP Standard Series
  • Fully customized systems

Shock absorber or damper testing systems are configured to run in tandem with IST Labtronic™ digital controllers and the IST Labsite™ software package. This is a unique PC-based Windows® applications software which is integrated with the Labtronic controller to enable robust, repeatable tests with higher data accuracy and minimal operator errors.

Digital Controller

  • Full digital controller Labtronic 8800
  • Single or multi-channel e.g. for side load application or for the control of air-spring damper modules

Software

  • IST standard software for shock absorber or damper testing
  • IST standard software for general command signal replay and data acquisition on custom made software modules
  • Custom made software solutions

Electronic Advantage

  • Full digital control system without any analog components
  • One hardware in different packages from single channel low cost controller up to complex 24 channel system

Mechanical Advantages

The shock absorber or damper testing load frame has been especially developed to give the following mechanical advantages:

  • High load frame mass > 1.5 t
  • Special vibration isolation
  • Stiff load frame
  • Hydraulic movement and clamping of the crosshead complete safety concept
