Application Consultancy

IST provides solutions and products for test related problems and has the applications knowledge in areas such as durability, ride and handling, performance, squeak and rattle and other test related fields. IST will advise on the specific optimum solution as well as advise on complete laboratory planning.

Test Rig Design

IST has a range of test rigs which have been optimized and have evolved over the years for ‘best in class’ performance. New test requirements continue to drive the design for new test rigs that will reproduce the phenomenon and IST is driving forward with solutions to these needs. Examples of these are key life test sytems with environmental loading and systems simulating aerodynamic downforce as an integral part of the test track simulation.

Partnering

IST has maintained long term relationships with key partners able to contribute to the overall system solutions. The Durability Alliance with LMS International, TEAM Corporation and Kistler AG is a prime example. LMS has expertise in virtual prototyping and fatigue analysis software, TEAM in high frequency servohydraulic systems which when combined and integrated with IST provide truly great solutions. Kistler's wheel force transducers integrate perfectly with the physical test equipment from IST and the analysis software from LMS. In systems requiring environmental loading (temperature, humidity, sun load) IST partners with Ransco. A further key partner is Anthony Best Dynamics for kinematics and compliance systems.

System Integration and Project Management

The integration of the test rig mechanical fixtures, servohydraulics, control electronics and software required to meet the test and customer requirements requires high levels of systems engineering and project management skills.
