Tension
The tensile properties of wood, adhesives and fasteners can be determined using a range of specialized fixtures. Each device has been designed to meet a particular standard.
Principle Of Operation
Tensile properties of wood can be determined using wedge-action grips or special shoulder loading grips. Shoulder-loading is also used to assess adhesive properties in tension using specially prepared specimens.
The withdrawal force of screws and nails uses specially designed tooling to grip the fastener.
Application Range
- Tensile tests on wood, adhesive bonds and fasteners in timber products
