多晶鑽石刀具之衝擊特性
當進行鑽井探勘石油,天然氣與其它自然資源時,通常需要使用超硬材料製成的鑽頭穿透堅硬的地下岩石結構。鑽頭是由工業用或自然的鑽石所製,設計此工作,是在極端溫度與壓力條件下得到最大硬度與耐久性,這些特性對於有腐蝕作用,高速的環境下來說是重要的量測特性。
鑽頭在根據產業所需之客製式夾置具上固定約 45° , Instron® Model 9450 配置了 (222 kN) 鎚頭, Bluehill Impact ™ 數據擷取與客製化鎚頭插入物來進行此測試,因為試片的韌性,鎚頭插入物必須可以在硬質合金壓頭上插入與移除,其壓頭需在衝擊測試之後替換。
每個鑽頭衝擊直到有明顯的破壞徵兆 - 裂化或鑽頭表面變色抑或是材料從表面脫落,衝擊能量在此測試方法中為控制因子,因為客戶對於找出鑽頭在破壞時累積的能量層級有興趣。
