ISO 11343 접착제의 충격 특성
구조 접착제의 사용이 많아지면서 제조업체에서는 재래의 접합 기술과 비교하여 더 많은 장점을 알게 되었습니다. 특히 안전성이 중요한 자동차 산업에서의 이러한 접착제 사용의 증가는 접착 부분이 충격을 받았을 때 발생할 수 있는 성능 저하의 가능성을 평가할 필요성을 가져왔습니다. 접착제의 웨지 박리시험(Adhesive wedge peel test methods)이 충격을 받은 접합부의 파괴 특성을 평가하기 위해 도입되었습니다. 이 시험법은 다양한 온도에서 초당 2m 및 3m의 속도에서의 벽개 파괴(cleavage frature)에 대한 구조 접착제의 저항력을 측정하기 위한 ISO 표준 규격입니다.
이 표준에 따른 충격시험은 새로운 접착제의 연구 및 개발을 위한 평가 데이터의 형태로 제조자들에게 전달될 수 있습니다. 일단 적합한 제품이 개발되면 제조자와 사용자가 함께 지속적인 공정 관리 평가의 수단으로 충격 특성 기본 데이터를 사용하여 품질 관리 프로그램을 진행할 수 있습니다.
이 시험을 위해서는 낙하충격시험기인 Dyntaup® Model 9250HV과 함께 Model 8902-01 15.6kN tup, ½” hemi-spherical tup insert, 및 해당 소프트웨어인 Impulse™을 사용하여 데이터의 수집과 분석을 진행하실 수 있습니다. 또한 ISO 11343 표준에 따라 디자인된 치구인 adhesive wedge peel fixture를 사용하게 됩니다. 충격 속도는 2 및 3 m/s 로 실시하고 데이터 취득을 위한 시간은 45 milliseconds로 합니다.
ISO 11343은 시편을 스틸 또는 알루미늄 판으로 길이 90 mm, 폭 20 mm, 두께 0.6 – 1.7 mm로 만들도록 하고 있습니다. 시편은 끝 30mm 부분을 접착면으로 하고 접착하지 않는 끝부분은 소리굽쇠 모양으로 만듭니다. 스페이서 블록으로 시편 끝단을 고정합니다. 시험시에는 웨지 치구가 접착 부분의 접착부를 지나도록 시험하게 됩니다.
이러한 시험 구성으로 충격 조건 하에서의 높은 접착 강도 특성을 잘 파악할 수 있습니다. 접착제 공급자와 사용자 모두 제품의 성능을 평가를 위하여 시험 결과를 이용할 수 있습니다. 환경 챔버(environmental chamber)를 사용하면 저온 및 고온에서의 특성을 이해하는데 도움이 될 수 있습니다.
