Shock Absorbers
Used to stop the falling crosshead with a minimum of vibration; they are similar to a car’s shock absorbers. These are a heavy duty combination of spring and hydraulic shock absorbers which mount onto the base plate of the test instrument in place of stop blocks. Shock absorbers are standard on model 8140 and 8150 instruments (with one fixed height, selected for optimal operation for three point bend testing) and optional on other models.
