Specimen Preparation Notching, Punching, and Milling Machines
Proper preparation of the specimen is a critical process for accurate material characterization. An appropriate preparation of the specimen; as well as an adequate notching procedure affect the final test results; generating reliable outcomes in the finish product performances. Pneumatic Cord and Yarn Grips 2714-107
Pneumatic tire cord grips provide a convenient method for clamping tire cord and braided wire to reduce the problem associated with testing these materials. A guide pin allows for easy loading onto a graduated radius cam. This cam provides a stress reduced clamping area on the specimen. The clamping mechanism can be activated either automatically or through a foot switch. This allows hands-free grip operation enabling the specimen to be held with both hands, for easy loading. Pneumatic cord and yarn grips provide selectable clamping force to accommodate different materials and excellent follow up action which compensates for decay of the holding force due to specimen creep.

3kN Compression Platens 2840-117
This compression fixture has been designed to easily provide the capability of compression testing. The platens are rigidly fixed and are non self-aligning. They have a high stiffness that resists off-centre loads; this retains the parallelism during specimen failure. The edge of the platen allows for the attachment of an LVDT, allowing you to measure the direct displacement between two equal sized platens during a compression test.
