AT6 Automated Testing System: Testing Plastics, Elastomers, and Thin Films

This video demonstrates an Instron AT6 automated testing system configured for tensile testing on a range of material types and specimen sizes, including rigid plastics, elastomers, and thin films. As the system processes each specimen tray, batch separators are scanned to automatically update test parameters and the frame setup.

The AT6 shown in this video is equipped with a specimen measurement device to automatically record measurements prior to testing. Strain is captured using the AutoX750 automatic contacting extensometer, which can be configured to automatically detach prior to specimen break. Conforming to various ISO and ASTM standards for a wide range of materials, this system has a flexible platform to deliver high throughput with repeatable results for a variety of testing needs.
