CT6 Cobot Configured for Auto-Injector Testing

Instron's® CT6 automation platform can be integrated onto torsion-capable systems, increasing the range of applications. In the pharmaceutical industry, many container closures utilize threaded connections for preventing accidental separation. This system is evaluating the unscrewing torque for luer tip caps, defined by ISO 11040-4 Annex G.5. Introducing automation removes operator influence from misalignment and reduces the burden for the operator to load and unload the entire sample, allowing them to dedicate their time to more important tasks.

Instron’s CT6 offers the benefits of automation without the additional complexity of a fully automated testing system.

Instron’s CT6 can be configured as an automated solution for the required testing of syringes. Break loose and glide force testing constitutes the bulk of syringe testing and is used to determine the real-world forces required to operate the syringe. Cobots can be placed separately or in-lined to improve throughput and efficiency in both of these applications.
