Specimen Protect

Specimen Protect is a feature in many Instron materials testing systems that limits the maximum force applied to the test specimen. When Specimen Protect is enabled, the actuator or crosshead moves automatically to ensure the force on the test article remains within the pre-set boundaries. Specimen protect is often used to protect specimens or components during test setup, prior to the setting of operational limits.
