MT MicroTorsion Series Torsion Testing Machines
No longer in production, the MT MicroTorsion Series systems were benchtop torsion testing machines that were phased out in response to changing customer requirements for biaxial control. Produced from 2000 to 2025, these machines were available in a range of sizes and torque capacities to evaluate mechanical properties under torsional load.
Torsion Add-On for Universal Testing Systems: A torsion add-on can be installed on any new or existing 6800 or 5900 Series universal testing system to allow for simultaneous or independent axial and torsional testing — with a torque capacity of up to ±20 Nm.
ElectroPuls All-Electric Dynamic and Fatigue Testing Systems: The ElectroPuls testing systems offer both axial and torsional testing capabilities — with a torque capacity of up to ±130 Nm.
Accessories are available to use existing MT1/2 fixturing on 5900 or 6800 Series test frames, utilizing an adapter between the M12 x 1.75 thread and type O or D connectors. Similarly, existing W-5510-T2, T3, and T4 torque cells can be used with an overload protection device on 5900 or 6800 Series systems.
Older MT systems, including 4400 and 5500 Series, can still be retrofitted with 5900 Series electronics to extend the life of your equipment and enable compatibility with the latest version of Bluehill Universal software.
Once products are no longer in production, they move through four distinct phases in the Instron Product Life Cycle. You can find the phase of your product in our Out of Production section, and more information about the support options available at each phase can be found in the Instron Product Life Cycle Policy.
