This page lists electromechanical universal testing systems manufactured by Instron that are no longer in production, dating back to our founding in 1946. More than 75,000 of these systems have been installed around the world, including at 96% of the world's largest manufacturing companies, and our records show that at least 30,000 are still in active use, based on service visits within the past year.

Instron has a legacy of building systems that last for decades under demanding operating conditions; in fact, the average age of an Instron system that we service is 18 years. With proper preventive maintenance, the load frame itself can remain in service for decades, and older systems benefit greatly from upgrading to the latest testing software and/or a complete electrical retrofit.
