Course Content & Format

Instron training courses cover a broad range of materials testing topics, with content varying by course level and format. Core areas include an introduction to materials testing, safe system operation, and both basic and advanced test method development in Bluehill® Universal. Courses also explore advanced software features such as TestProfiler, data integrity and result analysis, and operator safety for electromechanical and servohydraulic systems.

Training can also be provided for other software platforms, including Console and WaveMatrix™, upon request. Customized training options are available to meet specific requirements. For a full list of courses and detailed outlines, please visit the Instron training courses page.

Instron offers training at multiple levels to suit different experience levels. Introductory courses such as Basic Introduction to Materials Testing are designed for new operators or those with limited materials testing knowledge. Intermediate and advanced courses assume familiarity with basic testing concepts and Bluehill Universal software. Each course description indicates the recommended experience level and target audience.

We strongly encourage this. However, we may not have testing instruments available with your same testing capacity requirements. Typically, at our Regional Training sessions in North America, we are limited to capacities of 500 N (100 lbf). At our Norwood Training Center, we are able to achieve loads up to about 10 kN (2,250 lbf). Please contact one of our Trainers at the Instron Training Center:

Delivery & Location

Instron classroom training courses are held at dedicated training facilities in Norwood, Massachusetts (US headquarters), High Wycombe, UK (European headquarters), and virtually, as well as at select regional locations across the United States. Training may also be available in additional locations. Please contact your local service office to explore options near you. Registration, Pricing & Policies

To register for an Instron training course, complete our Training contact form or contact your local Instron office.

Not all of the courses or topics we are capable of delivering are scheduled. We normally schedule our most popular courses periodically. If you cannot find the course or topic you need, contact us to see about the availability of holding a course to meet your needs.

For training courses in the US only: if cancellation is necessary, written or email notification to the Instron Training Center ([email protected]) is required five (5) business days prior to the first day of training. You may receive a full refund, minus a $100 administrative fee, up to and including the 5th business day before the event. If you cannot attend with less than five (5) business days' notice, you may send a replacement with written notice to [email protected]. If you're unable to send a replacement, you will forfeit your registration fee.

For training courses outside of the US, the cancellation policy varies depending on the location. Contact your local Instron office for the cancellation policy specific to your region.

Instron will provide training materials, course outlines, and access to equipment during the session. Participants are encouraged to bring any specific questions about their testing applications or challenges they're experiencing with their systems. If you have specific test methods or specimens you'd like to work through, contact Instron in advance to discuss whether these can be incorporated into the session.

Post-Training

Training materials provided during classroom and on-site courses are yours to keep as a reference after the session. For eLearning courses, access to course materials through the training portal may be available for a period after completion. Contact Instron to confirm post-course access for the specific course you're taking.
