ElectroPuls®

The Difference is Measurable

Since 2007, ElectroPuls systems have run tests over billions of cycles, establishing themselves as the industry standard for materials testing instruments using patented linear motor technology. Offering both slow-speed static and high-frequency fatigue testing, this versatile capability makes ElectroPuls systems ideal for any lab or office space.

Choose from axial-only or combined axial-torsion systems delivering up to 20 kN and 130 Nm, available in four sizes — simply pick the one that's right for you.

For maximum capacity and force in electrodynamic testing, we've recently introduced the new ElectroPuls E20000 model.

ElectroPuls: a simpler, smarter, safer way to meet your testing needs.

SIMPLER
Redefining the Test Space

| Instron Operator using ElectroPuls

Maximize Your Test Throughput
WaveMatrix™3 Dynamic Testing Software gives users the ability to quickly and easily construct a wide range of dynamic and quasi-static test methods, using minimal steps within a simple matrix structure.

Simplify Your Working Environment
Made in our UK manufacturing facility, the all-electric ElectroPuls instruments simplify dynamic testing. It's a clean, quiet, plug-and-play system that's economical to maintain and can be located practically anywhere.

Stiffness-Based Tuning
Instron's Stiffness Based Tuning quickly optimizes the performance of your fatigue testing system — no expertise required, and no pre-cycling on the specimen.

SMARTER
Redefining the Testing Experience

Future-proof your lab today and increase your testing capability without adding complexity to your system.

The patented biaxial motor of ElectroPuls instruments combines axial and torsional testing within a single integrated actuator, eliminating the need for separate load strings or additional hardware. This means one system can cover a broader range of test methods and specimen types as your testing needs evolve, without requiring a second machine or a more complex setup.

SAFER
Safety Without Sacrificing Usability

Increase Your Peace of Mind and Concentrate on Your Testing
Prevent sample debris from leaving the test area and reduce the risk of multiple operators simultaneously controlling the system. The integrated guard and single point of control maintain the highest level of operator safety.

Keep Your Users Safe During Test Setup and While Running Tests
The low drive power mode restricts the force and velocity of actuator movement during setup, and interlocks prevent pneumatic grips from opening during testing.

Available Models
<1 N–20 kN Force Capacities | Up to 130 Nm Torque Capacity

All-electric tabletop test instruments designed for dynamic and static testing on a wide range of materials and components.

All-Electric Dynamic Test Instrument

The ElectroPuls E1000 is a compact, all-electric instrument for dynamic and static testing across a wide range of materials and components. Patented stiffness-based tuning, a Dynacell™ load cell, and a 60 mm stroke deliver fast, accurate results in a desktop footprint requiring less than 0.15 m² of space — with no compressed air, hydraulics, or water needed. Compatible with WaveMatrix™2, Bluehill® Universal, and a full range of grips, fixtures, and accessories.

Linear-Torsion All-Electric Dynamic Test Instrument

The ElectroPuls E3000 Linear-Torsion combines dynamic and static testing in a single all-electric instrument, with a bi-axial Dynacell™ load cell and patented stiffness-based tuning across both axes. A 60 mm linear stroke plus ±135° or ±16 revolutions of rotation covers a wide range of tests, while the twin-column configuration keeps the test area easy to access. Compatible with WaveMatrix™2, Bluehill® Universal, and a full range of grips, fixtures, and accessories.

As Synoste's test requirements grew in both quantity and complexity, it became clear that the only way to keep pace was to bring testing in-house. By investing in their own ElectroPuls equipment, Synoste gained full ownership of their test resources — control over scheduling, faster iteration, and no dependence on external test labs. Through machine learning, Siemens Digital Industries has built the ability to predict fatigue behavior for 3D-printed components into its Simcenter 3D Specialist Durability software. Using test data from ElectroPuls users at KU Leuven, the machine learning algorithm assesses build orientation and surface roughness to generate local S-N curve predictions. Read more.

Changes in tissue microstructure — namely, increased tissue stiffness — are known to play a key role in cancerous growth. Investigating these mechanical properties is essential to building an accurate biomechanical model of tumor growth. Read more.

Using an ElectroPuls E10000, BaoWu Group runs everything from low-speed static testing of food-grade lightweight materials to dynamic, long-term mechanical property testing of materials such as ultra-thin steels under variable frequency and amplitude. Read More.
